BEING HUMAN

Friday morning, 5:55 am, a small #WGW crew gathered to climb Lion’s Head on a wet, cold winter's day.

The hike began in pitch darkness, with only our small lights guiding us. The mountain became a backdrop for meaningful conversations.

The mountain always teach us lessons 💎 The rainy weather reminds me of this 'being human'.

👉🏼 Life is not a straight road. There are lots of rainy days. What matters is how I meet it!

💎 Can I let it shape me, educate me and guide me? Can I turn challenges into opportunities?

👉🏼 I had an intimate conversation with a fellow hiker about the inner mountains we've faced - the trauma we carried - and how we've found purpose in pain.

💎 Recognizing its purpose, you realize it isn't just pain - it prepares you for the next big step in your journey.

👉🏼 Several members of the WGW crew are also committed Student Dads, daily showing up in the parenting gym! Hearing their profound stories of navigating personal and professional mountains is inspiring.

💎 I see a special quality shining through, as a reminder that any challenge, whether on this mountain or in life, will help us refine our best version strategy! Paul, you rock !

💎 There's no greater gift than being invited into someone's story! When we risk opening our hearts, we invite others to do the same. I think about the power of stories, how my own story is the product of thousands of stories woven into mine.

👉🏼 Mental health was a big topic - it's easy to succumb to our inner mountains, especially when we deal with them all on our own.

💎 There's real power in connection, in having allies on our path. We are not meant to do it all on our own.

👉🏼 In my old version - the Loner - I thought it was all on me. I was adept at climbing my mountains and ran 200k on the performance highway.

💎 One of my biggest lessons has been to know when to accelerate and when to pull the breaks! Pacing yourself and not allowing limiting beliefs to determine your business strategy is an art! Today, performance for wellbeing is a key focus in my personal life and in my work with clients.

👉🏼 The mountain reminds you - it is in those moments where you slow down that you begin to appreciate the little things:

💎 Thank you, Samantha , for lending me a rain jacket - a lifesaver during the rainy patches we encountered.

💎 Sam, thank you for your steady hand on the slippery trail.

💎 Will, I'm in awe of you; you brought your humanity to the mountain, slightly overslept, caught up, and brought your legendary coffee/tea station to the summit.

💎 Small yet profound acts of kindness remind us of the importance of looking out for one another.

This journey wasn’t just about climbing a mountain; it was about the connections we forged, the lessons we learned, and the beauty we discovered - both in nature and in each other. We were richer not just for having walked the path together, but because we shared it together.

Love, Karina 🙏
